ICRC meets with ADSPHCDA on the Implementation of ALMANACH

Implementation of ALMANACH

Algorithm for the MANAgement of CHildhood illnesses (ALMANACH) is an upgraded form of IMCI in electronic format. It is an initiative of ICRC piloted in Afganistan with encouraging results. Based on this, the team consisting of Dr Francois Crabbe, Dr Andrea Bernasconi and Mr Alexandre Venobberghen from Swiss Tropical and Public health Institute, and Dr Gabriel, Mr Victory, Dr Audu, Dr Yakubu and Mrs Felicia from ICRC visited the Agency to give a highlight of the project, its benefits and how it will be tested in Adamawa State.

The team intends to visit the underlisted Health Facilities to determine if the project can the implemented.  These facilities are:

  • Malkohi 
  • Vunoklang
  • Girei B
  • Betso
  • Lokuwa
  • Muva

The Executive Chairman of Adamawa State Primary Health Development Agency wish that the project will be tested in three (3) LGAs namely Yola South, Girei and Mubi North instead of the selected facilities for bettter coverage.
