BMJ Presentation of e-PACK

The Practical Approach to Care Kit (PACK) is an algorithm of treatment guidelines for adults developed by the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and the University of Cape Town’s Knowledge Translating Unit (KTU) as well as the Health Resource International West Africa(HRIWA)

All 22 Health facilities of the pilot LGA Fufore are already using  the Hard copy PACK for diagnosis and treatment.

ADAMAWA STATE IS THE FIRST IN THE WHOLE WORLD TO PILOT e-PACK.

In order to pilot the e-PACK the team will visit some health facilities to see the success of the tool and also compare with other existing tools like ALMANACH.

The team lead from HRIWA stated that Adamawa State is indeed a pacesetter in the project because of the tremendous results obtained so far

The Executive Chairman of ADSPHCDA Dr. Abdullahi D. Belel stated that while improving on the e-PACK, the team should have the following in mind:

  1. Scope of Services: Already Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency has alread adopted the Minimum Health Care Service Package for PHCs 
  2. Ease in accessing services
  3. Standadization of test kits 
  4. Feedback
