The State Task Force On Immunization Address Negative Rumour On Immunization

 The Chairman Task force on Immunization His Excellency Engr. Martins Babale Deputy governor Adamawa state during an emergency press brief in view of the rumors circulating in parts of Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, Madagali, Song, Yola North, Yola South and Mayo Belwa local government areas on behalf of the state government state clearly that there is no such vaccination that is harmful to children in Adamawa state.

He said most importantly, the Adamawa state government wishes to reassure all Parents, Guardians and caregivers that there is no government programme in the state including polio vaccination that is harmful.

The Deputy governor re-emphasize that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari has made budgetary allocation and release for the provision of safe and potent vaccine as sign of commitment for the safety and survival of the Nigerian child.

He added That, the Executive governor, Senator Mohammadu Umaru jibrilla has exemplified huge political commitment by Personally Flagging off the Polio Vaccination Campaign yesterday at Demsa LGA.

Engr. Babale also commended our development partners (WHO, UNICEF, CDC-NSTOP, Rotary International), traditional and religious leaders, the media and stakeholders for their unweaving partnership, support and commitment to eradicate all vaccine preventable diseases. The repeated polio vaccination campaign including the ongoing campaign is meant to enhance community protection against polio because of the re-emergence of the disease in Borno.

Also, as Nigeria prepares for another round of Measles campaign in the North East commencing from November 30th to December 12th 2017, I urge the citizens of Adamawa state to support government’s programmes by availing their children of the opportunity to be immunized.
