National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and ADSPHCDA Celebrate World Volunteer Day

EU-Unicef strengthen the engagement of NURTW members to improve the quality Maternal Newborn Child Healthcare (MNCH) service in Adamawa state.

The Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow Executive governor of Adamawa State and Grand Patron of NURTW represented by Felix Tangwame at the occasion commended the patriotic zeal of the union by supporting the activities of the PHC in the state. He reducing transportation challenges remains critical to his Administration, hence the need for engagement of volunteer drivers by the association to transport Pregnant mothers to PHC facilities.

In a similar vein the EU-Unicef lead consultant Dr Sa’adatu Ringim     in company of Hauwa Musa Director community health services, Present support material to the Union to help better the services rendered by the volunteer driver in respective communities in the state.

The Chairman of the Union applauded the intervention by EU-unicef and promised to use this opportunity to reduce maternal and morbidity rate in Adamawa state. He called on other union and associations in the state to follow suit.
