Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri flagged off 2021 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC )in Adamawa State. Malaria remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Nigeria. The World Malaria Report 2019 shows that Nigeria continues to account for 25% of the estimated global malaria burden. 53% of West Africa burden and 57.2million cases are recorded in Nigeria. Mortality associated with malaria stood at an annual death of 958,440 with Nigeria accounting for 23% of global deaths and 47% of deaths in West Africa.
